Project Summary

In 1997 and 1998, created Java-based financial planning tools for Fidelity Investments (Contribution Calculator, Withdrawal Calculator) that were subsequently deployed within its NetBenefits web application.

In 1998, created an XML-based document management system for Fidelity Investments’ 401k.fidelity.com site, which was used for 8–9 years.

In 1998, designed and developed the Java applet-based Take Home Pay Calculator for Fidelity’s 401k.com site.

From fall of 1998 through spring of 1999, served as principal interaction designer in the redesign of Fidelity Investments’ NetBenefits, a web application that provides account access to over one million retirement savings plan investors.

As a result of the NetBenefits redesign, deployed in June 1999, a September 2000 New York Times article stated that “57 percent of the contacts made by retirement-account customers have come online this year, compared with 16 percent in 1998.”

In late 1999 and into 2000, after relocating to the Chicago area, served as principal interaction designer in the redesign of HOLT Value Associates’ (now Credit Suisse HOLT) financial analysis product, ValueSearch.

From 2001 into 2004, greatly simplified the web publishing process of DeVry University’s academic catalog by using XML, XSLT and XSL-FO to repurpose content and display it in an easy-to-navigate online format.

From late 2002 through 2003, developed and enhanced user interfaces for Endeavor Information Systems’ web-based products.

In 2004, served as usability analyst and principal interaction designer of a call center web application for Allstate Financial.
